2/1/17

ICE SKATING: We started the semester strong with a social event of ice skating down at the PPG rink in downtown.

2/5/17

CUPCAKE DECORATING: Brothers and initiates teamed up with ESA to donate food to the Pitt Pantry on campus! Once they made their donations, brothers got to enjoy some delicious cupcakes they decorated. Between service and dessert, this event takes the cake for a fun event!

2/7/17

(NOT) PI VOLLEYBALL: Every Tuesday, brothers come out and support our two intramural volleyball teams. On this day however, Pi Volleyball faced the prestigious Not Pi Volleyball team, and somehow pulled out a victory. It was a hard-fought game; lots of sweat and tears were shed.

2/11/17

CARNEGIE SCIENCE CENTER: Brothers went to the Carnegie Science Center and explored the various exhibits. From practicing giving a weather report to beating a robot in air hockey to exploring an old WWII submarine, there was plenty for the brothers to see and learn.

2/14/17

FOUNDER'S DAY: Alpha Omega chapter celebrated Phi Sigma Pi's National Founder's Day on February 12th. Brothers gathered together for friends, Pi history trivia, and good food. A good time was had by all.

2/15/17

BLOOD DRIVE: On February 15th Phi Sigma Pi hosted a blood drive with Central Blood Bank. Brothers, initiates, and members of the community came together to make life-saving donations.

2/18/17

MR. NJB: Mr. Nice Jewish Boy is an competition between 6 of Pitt's most eligible bachelors competing for the title of Mr. NJB where all the money raised goes to the charity of the winner's choice. This year, the boys competed in an interview portion, talent portion, and Jewish joke portion to convince the crowd and the Jewish mothers who were judging to vote for them. The winner this year chose to donate $568 raised to the Lone Soldier Center (an organization created to help transition people moving to Israel and joining the Israeli Defense Force).

2/25/17

GLOBAL LINKS: Brothers went and helped out at Global Links, a medical relief and development organization dedicated to supporting health improvement initiatives in resource-poor communities. We organized and sorted supplies to be shipped out to those in need.

EBOARD ELECTIONS: HUGE congratulations to our new board for the 2017-2018 academic year!! Can't wait to see what these brothers will accomplish, congrats to all.

INITIATE SCHOLARSHIP EVENT: For their scholarship event, this semester's initiate class partnered up with “It’s On Us," a movement to eradicate sexual assault on college campuses. Brothers and initiates participated in the T-shirt decorating initiative to share stories, statistics, and define consent to show support for victims and raise awareness to eliminate sexual assault. The decorated shirts will be publicly displayed at a campus-wide unveiling event on April 13, 2017.
