March 2017 Highlights
Check out some of the amazing events we had in March!!
3/4/17
ICCA CENTRAL QUARTERFINAL: Brothers went to Soldiers and Sailors to watch and support fellow brother Katie Quinn compete for her a cappella group Pitches and Tones. They finished as the runner-up at the quarterfinals this month, and will be competing at the semifinals competition in Buffalo, NY later in the month!

3/18/17
FORMAL: Phi Sigma Pi’s Spring 2017 Formal was at Dave and Buster’s! Brothers and initiates not only had an opportunity to dress up and enjoy a night out, but games were played, prizes were won, and fellowship was enjoyed by all!

3/19/17
INITIATE SERVICE EVENT: Initiates created a service event that both brothers and initiates could enjoy while helping out the community! During this event, brothers and initiates decorated non-slip socks to donate to a nursing home and made cards to give out.

3/22/17
CHAPTER HISTORY EXTRAVAGANZA: How well do brothers and initiates know their Phi Sigma Pi facts? Chapter History Extravaganza tested their knowledge through trivia and some friendly challenges to help prepare initiates to take the National Exam. Chapter History Extravaganza definitely isn’t like normal test review sessions!

3/23/17 - 3/26/17
CHARM: Brother Brad Campbell had the honor of portraying Nathaniel Hawthorne in the recent Pitt Stage production of Charm! Here's what he had to say about the experience "Charm was a bit of an uphill battle for me. We were all tasked with portraying famous philosophers that people were familiar with, so we had to make them seem authentic. I've never played the awkward guy, but I feel I was able to do it justice." Charm was Brad's first play at Pitt, but he's certain it won't be his last.

3/25/17
GLOBAL LINKS: Brothers once again went and helped out at Global Links, a medical relief and development organization dedicated to supporting health improvement initiatives in resource-poor communities.
We organized and sorted supplies to be shipped out to those in need.
3/26/17

LEADERSHIP IN ACTION MODULE -- THERE'S NO I IN TEAM: Team work plays is an important part of Phi Sigma Pi, as well as in the professional world! Leadership in Action Facilitators Jordan Johnson and Chloe Ghirardi hosted this leadership in action module to teach brothers about the importance of team work and some of the key aspects of teams. This will definitely help brothers for years to come in all types of careers!
3/30/17
HUNGER SIMULATION: Brothers volunteered in a hunger simulation based on average annual incomes and food access in Pittsburgh. They received an identity and income upon entering the event and sat and ate corresponding to their assigned social class. It was a good learning experience for all, and a great way to help out the Pitt Pantry.
