January 2018 Highlights

The spring semester has started off strong for the Alpha Omega Chapter! Here's what we were busy with this past month:

1/13 Diversity Networking Breakfast:

Brothers were able to network with a variety of the regions top employers who have expressed interest in meeting diverse student talent! The event kicked off at 9 AM with a keynote presentation delivered by Vibrant Pittsburgh, an organization whose mission is to, “embrace inclusion, to ensure the Pittsburgh region’s growth by attracting, retaining, and elevating a diversity of talent, and to promote the region nationally and internationally as a diverse, welcoming region of opportunities.” This was followed by a breakfast buffet and open networking with employers.

1/15 MLK Day of Service (pictured left):

Brothers spent their MLK Day aiding Habitat for Humanity and painted houses to help others.

1/19 Date Party:

Our first social event of every semester is Date Party. The brothers did not only have a lot of fun, but they could also meet some potential rushees and introduce them to the fraternity!

1/24 DIY Journal Making (pictured right):

Brothers and rushees helped make journals with encouraging messages for women in recovery.

1/19 Pitt Business Career and Internship Fair:

Brothers were able to network with top employers from Pittsburgh and globally at the 2018 Pitt Business Career and Internship Fair. This event was especially resourceful for business majors or people who were looking for business related internships.

1/30 Love Your Melon Penguins Game:

Brothers flocked to the Pittsburgh Penguins vs. San Jose Sharks hockey game to support Love Your Melon, a charitable brand that supports the fight against pediatric cancer. Ticket proceeds from the game went to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh and other charitable partners of Love Your Melon!
